What is the history? Did you buy it like this? Have you been driving it problem-free and this started happening? I need to know this kind of stuff.

It does sound like it's getting fuel and spark. It ran, so it's getting both obviously. And it's TRYING to start. It's probably a sensor issue. AFM?

Try checking both spark and fuel pulse (not pressure, I'm talking injector pulse) and let us know what you find.

well i bought it with a fucked up motor and just got a rebuild street port motor with atkins apex seals and the whole atkins rebuild kit and im just trying to get it started. ill check and see if i can feel em pulsing tommorow when i try at it agin and ill let u kno wat i find out

Did you install the CAS properly?

overpaid4myfc 06-03-11 12:24 PM

Why are you switching your fuel pump on and off? Check your fuel pressure, it could be a dirty filter sock on the pump itself. Stabbing the CAS incorrectly could be an issue as well.

boostkeepsmesane7 06-07-11 11:50 AM

CAS is installed correctly and the fuel pump its brand new brand and new fuel filter. and i turned it off just incase it was flooded and it started with it off and then once it started and was sitting at like 2 grand for a lil bit i was thinking of leaving it off to see wat happened but then right when i flipped the fuel pump on it died out

AGreen 06-07-11 01:11 PM

Brand new fuel pump, and it won't run with it on....

Did you buy a "high flow" fuel pump?

boostkeepsmesane7 06-08-11 09:29 AM

yep 255lph

AGreen 06-08-11 09:41 AM

on a NA car?

boostkeepsmesane7 06-12-11 11:43 PM

no its turbo

DeMoe Aurelius 06-27-11 02:36 PM

Make sure the ground on the pump is good!!!

boostkeepsmesane7 06-28-11 11:13 AM

I can here the fuel pump running when I have the key on engine off I don't get it idk if it's somethin to do with my injectors or wat

boostkeepsmesane7 07-02-11 03:18 PM

I just noticed in the first video my vacuum only goes to like 10 do u think that could be my problem

That would be caused by either the AFM flap door being stuck open which it should not be or the fuel check connector is jumpered or the Brown wire at the circuit opening relay that comes from the check connector is accidentally grounded out.

turboIIrotary 07-02-11 04:05 PM

Sounds like it's only running on one rotor and the car looks like it is shaking from it also.

boostkeepsmesane7 07-05-11 01:46 PM

The reason y I can here it running is because I hard wired the power to the ignition switch because who ever had it before me fucked the fuel pump circuit all up so it dosnt work even when the check connector is jumped. Also it's a rebuildt motor so it better not be running on one rotor or ima be pissed I was there the whole rebuild process to so i doubt it.

dwb87 07-05-11 02:06 PM

I turn my pump on and off with a switch. I totally rewired my Walbro fuel pump via information I found here on the forums. I flip the switch, start the car, and drive it.

boostkeepsmesane7 07-05-11 05:18 PM

U gotta link to that thread?

HAILERS2 07-05-11 05:42 PM

Stock ECU or ??????? It does sort of sound like its runing on one rotor though. N374 ECUs sometimes cause that problem.

Injectors work off a pulsed gnd from the ECU to the injectors FYI. The injector primary plugs need to be on the primarys and secondary injector plugs on the secondarys and not mixed up b/t the two.

Sure sounds like a one rotor car though. But I'm not too good at YourTube video sounds so it could be me.

Vdub2002 07-05-11 06:18 PM

Is it just me or does it look like he needs to put gas in it.

I'd imagine that the very little bit of fuel in it is old.

AGreen 07-05-11 07:52 PM

TII swapped car? The cluster doesn't seem to have the boost gauge like all the TII's I've seen. I think Vdub's right. Old gas will prevent the car from running. Out of curiosity, what are the compression numbers?

boostkeepsmesane7 07-06-11 09:52 AM

Ya it's swapped and I'm not sure wat ecu I have in it right now won't be home for another 2 weeks. And it's brand new gas It was at half a tank and from trying to start it. And it sounds good in real life trust me I kno wat one rotor sounds like I was driving it on one rotor when I first got it. I also have not checked the compression yet .

boostkeepsmesane7 07-06-11 10:16 AM

I kno I have a 87 turbo ecu in it now but I have a extra 88 turbo ecu and injectors I might try out
