Starting Issue and Shock Advice

I am the new owner of a 1986 GXL auto trans ( also own 93 Touring). I am quite ignorant of the 2nd Gen rotary and have two questions.

1. Every now and then when I turn the ignition key I get no response: not even the click of something wanting to happen. Try again and car starts. Infamilarity or problem, I do not know about?

2. Passenger side rear shock leaks, What would you recommend for replacements? I looked up Koni's and others but they say electronic shock relay would be disabled. Since I never intend to track the car what would the pro's suggest? Is this a special shock or should I just ignore?

I think the best performance for the money would be KYB AGX's off of eBay ($360~ shipped)...

You should check your wiring and stuff. Make sure everything is nice and tight, and check the clutch switch...

For #1, it is almost certainly the ignition switch going out. Its not really a major problem, just an annoyance.

For #2, there are several options. First, there are none that will work with the factory AAS (adjustable suspension.) I honestly don't know a whole lot about general OEM style replacements, but I hear KYB GR2's are good, and I', sure there are others out there. I have KYB AGX's and love them, but I think they are generally for use with a stiffer spring setup. I have them paired with Ground Control coil-overs.

Thanks for the information. Since none of the aftermarket shocks work with the AAS it will be just a matter of preference. I will check out the KYB line.
