Starter issues pls help

So I replaced my starter because it was bad and worn out, 140k miles on 88 N/A. Not only was it bad but the starter would sometimes grind against the flywheel and not start, just scraping it. And also if it started, would sometimes engage while I’m driving and would go back in after a little bit. New starer, problem solved, 3 days later back to square one. Trying to figure out if it’s an electrical issues or something. Also got a new battery since it was old and I also have a rebuilt trans with new bearing and stage one clutch kit, including new flywheel, so pls help🥲

I admittedly can't watch the video for some reason, but can say with experience that rebuilt starters fail about as often as they work.

Take it back and get another. Preferably not reman'd in china... Much better luck with the Mexico ones. Even better, get one from Banzai or Mazda.

Def plan on getting a new one, just confused why it did it before getting an new one to now also getting it. And also last night, driving home form work and woundt start, all you hear is it engaging with yeh flywheel and just scraping it. So me and my coworker push started it and the grinding stayed on the entire way home, kept engaging while I was driving. Take god I don’t live far but as soon as I parked turned it off and it still was engaging and after few second slowly died down and I was just like bro😐. The noise is like a coin in a tin can and just rattling it

It almost sounds like the starter solenoid is staying engaged. Did your new starter come with the solenoid (they usually do), or did you have to reuse your old one?
