squeaky rotors

Whenever my brakes are cold they squeak as I move. Using them warms them up and they stop, but when cold, like if I haven't used them in a while, or when I just start moving, they squeak. Not a solid squeak, it goes "squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak", and faster as I go faster. This is probably because the rotors are a little warped (they do have 150k miles on them), but is there any way to stop the noise? Are the calipers just old? The brakes are great, they stop like a dream. I can lock all 4 tires without even trying (they are snow tires though).

maybe your car doesn't like you :D

but seriously, check the shims behind the brake pads, and if any oil and grease and stuff is behind them- that could make it squeak. on monday when we start my TII swap, we could check it out, I'm battleing the same problem on my dad's Z(which is known to squeak though.

or wait, maybe its time for some new pads? don't they have those things to make it squeak when the pads are worn?

i know some pads are designed to squeal when they're old, but I don't think it's the same sound.

there's this brake anti-squeal compound that they make to stop brakes form squealing. you could get some of that and clean off the back of the pads and smear some of it on there. we use that stuff at school all the time-it works pretty good.

also, try taking some heavy sandpaper and sand around the rotor in little circles. it should at least make it go away for a little while.

is it coming from the front or the back? we should check it out monday or something.:)
