split air tube question

i have an 89 gtus and i want to remove my cat from my rx7. i already removed all but one, just for emissions reasons, but now i'm gonna take it off. my question is about the split air tube. i have my split air tube, connected to the hose at the engine, and the other end is welded to a high flow cat. so can i just remove the split air pipe when i run my cat delete? if i do that the hose that the check ball on the split air tube is just left open to atmosphere. do i do anything to this or do i just leave it like that? i have a spare split air tube that i can weld to the cat delete if needed, or maybe cut the check ball off of it, and connect it to the hose. if some one could help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

izzy

When I did this I just plugged it with a bolt. You can always remove it from the lower manifold and cover with a block off plate.

so then blocking off this hose will not hurt my engines operation? well thats a good thing, i'll just put a bolt in it for now till spring comes around.

No, it wont damage your engine.
