Spitting Flames?

Hey, a friend of mine was wanting to spit flames from his exhaust system for a photo shoot, he was asking me about something he could unplug that would do that for him. I remember someone also telling me that he had an FC that he took to the... well it's a long story.. point it.. he was telling me about something you can unplug real quick underneath your hood to make flames spit out of your exhaust...

So... anyone know of this?

add a spark plug to the exhaust and a little injector.
http://www.eatmyflames.com/ here is a place to buy a set

I would not recomment doing this but this is him and not me

why not just unhook the airpump and rev the shit out of her...? lol

adrock3217 06-27-06 09:45 AM

Unhooking anything will kill your cat. Get the cat out of there, and you will have flames on command. Otherwise, live with no flames. However, when pushed (on the highway, under extreme load) almost any RX7 will pop a flame or 2 on decel.

Removing the cats and emissions does not garantee flames.

adrock3217 06-27-06 09:56 AM

Well..it makes it a hell of a lot easier, and tons more predictable! :\

J-Rat 06-27-06 10:18 AM

Nah, a two step makes it incredibly predictable.

cool_as_crap 06-27-06 10:19 AM

just put a big hole in your exhaust mani. that will get you some flames :D

Well, I know after I removed my cat and put the RB stuff in, I still wasn't shootin' many flames. After I checked and replaced my front bearing, I put my distributor in and set the timing correctly, and it startin' poppin' flames, also more power at higher RPMs. Before I set the timing, it noticed a drop in power around 5k.

Anywho, good luck with the flames. If you don't have emissions where you live, I would get rid of the cats and throw in the RB stuff. Huge power gains with it. And then make sure your timing is correct.

Just don't pop a flame or two in front of a cop..... been there, done that.... turns out really bad. :(

That's hillarious Rx7TyreBurna!

well you see two step is a dance for flamers.

haha jk.

papiogxl 06-27-06 04:43 PM

Jrat, what settings are you using for your 2 step. Like how many how many cuts out of what base numbe, and whether its spark or fuel cut.

sure as shit doesnt... my car doesnt do it on command and just recently started doing it more.... after some mods but yeah its not that simple all the time.... last time i had a cop see me with flames it was in rural mississippi.. "son your car's shootin fires" thats right "FIRES" nuts .... ii laughed for days.

RotaryEvolution 06-27-06 07:06 PM

just hold your throttle to the floor, you'll see flames eventually...

Digi7ech 06-27-06 07:37 PM

Here was my recipe.

No emissions at all.
downpipe,Presilencer, and 3inch single catback.

Fuel pressure raised to 55/60psi
Throttle bump screw raised to 3k RPM

ANY time you let off the gas the car would throw a fireball from the high idle RPM and excess fuel pressure.

Straight through exhaust made it more probable for the flame to exit the car :D

It was fun driving on the highway like this. Absolutely no tail gaters.

Flames have been covered to death since the beginning of this forum. A search for "exhaust flames" will bring up more info then you will ever need. Since this thread is basically going nowhere, it's closed.
