whats the ohms on the spark plug wires for determination if replacement needed?

It's in the FSM as a resistance per meter. Its definately higher than 16 ohms, I think it's around 16 or 8 kohm/meter. Definately check the FSM.

A typo, my mistake.

16K ohms for every 3 and 1/4 feet.

As long as all 4 are about the same...

IIRC, the stock wires use to measure around 1k to 2k ohms each?

Sorry to res an old thread, but I couldn't find the answer I need anywhere on here, I did search. Figured I'd just res this one rather than start a new thread.

Will the wires still fire if the resistance is 20 or 30 kilo-ohms? I have spark to the trailing plugs but not to the leading. I'm pretty sure the coils are good, because they were on my T2 not long ago, swapped them on looking for a different problem. They weren't the problem, and I had the car running last week on both rotors. Now it's not firing the leading plugs. The leading wires are ohming at 20k and 30k ohms. Would that be high enough to keep them from firing? Or is it more likely my CAS that's ohming at 500 ohms?

Universal spec is 1,000ohm per foot.

Yeah after I posted I got the bright idea to check the wires on my T2, 25k ohms and they work fine, so I guess these are fine :) Shoulda done that first, but oh well. Maybe this will help the next guy searching this problem :D
