Spark Plug question
I am burning up spark plugs like crazy. I just changed them about a month ago, and I can tell by the way it is runnin that I need to change them again. The last ones I pulled out looked real bad. What causes this?
you list a crane hi-6... and a NX system......
you might want to try running a different plug.. you may be running the a little hot for the standard plugs.. I'd suggest calling/emailing racingbeat or mazdatrix and asking them what plugs they think you should run.. |
go down a notch. maybe to "6" and "8"? instead of 7 and 9.
I use Iridium leading plugs exclusivly when using a ignition controller/amp like a crane or MSD.
NGK copper plugs do tend to burn up very quick when used with a ignition controller/amp |
all of the above, plus make sure the timing is good...
thanks for the info

on the racing beat website it says that the lower the number the hotter the plug. is that right? Here is what it says: The NGK heat range is from Hot (2) to Cold (10).
Yes, the NGKs are backwards.
so why would I go down to 6's and 8's?
According to what I know, you should go to 9s or higher. All 9s all around is recommended for high boost settings.
