spark plug orange residue

Hey, I drove my car to my parents house to do some maintanence, radiator flush and oil change but it started to rain out so i couldnt do what i needed. I went to leave because the storm didnt seem like it was gonna pass and the car wouldnt start. I found this orange powder surround one of the spark plug housings. I was going to change the plugs anyways, i got 2 Leads from advance auto. I actually order all 4 but they ordered 4 of the same... So thankfully the plug with the residue was a lead so i was going to change the plug and see if the car would turn over. Not having the proper tools i couldnt get the plug out so instead i took a flathead and cleaned off the powder from the plug. After cleaning it out the car was able to turnover, although i did notice my oil pressure was at 0. Anybody know what would cause the powder/corrosion? Thanks in advance for any help i really appreciate it. I just got my rex a few weeks ago and just want to keep her going. Thanks again

first time I ever heard of orange powder...

as per the oil pressure being at 0. The oil pressure sender is not too far away from the spark plug. It's a mushroom shaped sender that should have one wire with a clip attached.

When you get a moment, take a look at the sender to see if the wire with the clip is attached. It's common sometimes to work on the spark plug's and accidentally knock off the clip on the oil pressure sender.

when you get a moment, yell at the pricks at advance for not ordering the right part....

Regards,

- Anil..

problem

yeah, i dont know how long this thing is going to last, havent even had it for a month. Car is overheating like crazy, the radiator is emptying out but theres no puddles so im thinkin into the engine. Just got home a minute ago and was greeted with smoke pouring out the hood when i pulled in. I could hear a spraying sound, like a leak or something coming from the general direction of the spark plugs. Not looking good.

The orange/Red residue looks like rust. I don't know what would cause rust on a spark plug. I am not a mechanic so what ever caused the plugs to rust like that could be why you are having these problems. I hope you get her fixed and running :)
