Some questions.....
Okay, so let me get this straight... First t2's were sold in 1987? Because my vin which is 14XXXX indicates that it was made in 1986. But the FC3326 indicates that it is indeed an original t2. So I'm assuming since i'm pre 1987.5, I'm running the low imp 550's with the resistor pack?
Just here to clarify. Planning on running 4 high imp 820's and bypassing the the resistors for my rtek 1.8, walbro 255lph pump and SAFC. |
I don't know on the injector question, but as for your car's year.. It was physically produced [and perhaps sold] in 1986 as a 1987 model year car.

"DOB" and "Sold as" are not always the same things. I had one of the first Jan(do i remember correctly?) 02 Hyundai Tiburons and it was sold as an 03. According to Hyundai, no 02 model exists, yet my car was totally different with an elantra stamped engine, map sensor, no vvt, wideband O2, and other funky things due to it's early production.

I read that everything after 1987.5 use high imp injectors and everything before uses low imp.

You can also check for the resistor pack in the front passenger side headlight area.

All of MODEL YEAR 1987 (say production from June 86-June 87) TII's and NA's were low impedance. High impedance began with MODEL YEAR 1988.
The easiest check is what color are the injector tops. |
