Solid warning buzzer when ignition in on position
when i turn the ignition to on it buzzes solid and loud, i think the hazards might flash too but it might just be the switch...any ideas?
|
i had this happen to me once, it was due to low coolant. not sure if this is the only cause tho.

theres no coolant so thats probably y |
Yep, that would be why. Mine did the same thing.
|
haha, yea, i think that will do it
|
i added coolant, but it still does it, also when the buzzer goes on the hazards flash rapidly...my starter and ignition wires are a bit messed up, and some of the harnesses arent connected, i'm slowly trying to get it running after removing the engine.

Sounds like you got an electrical gremlin! Did anybody jack with it before you got it?

well, update, when put the key in ON position, it beeps and the hazards blink 10 times...
i'm not sure what that means, also, the small single clip on the starter, i dont know where the connector is for it... :/ |
you need to redo all of that wiring... or leave it and you'll keep getting more problems

Mine does the exact same thing. And i am currently in the market for a new harness
|
The buzzer means low coolant, if you look at your lightup icons on the dash, it says coolant. Add coolant to see if it fixes it, if not, check your ground.

And usaly no i dont read the whole thread, usaly just the first or 2ed one posted.
|
i fhink the coolant if full, atleast the filler on the inlet is. anyone else have ideas as to what could be causeing this buzzer with like 10 flashes from the hazards?
I think different # of flashes means different stuff. it might be o2 sensor cuase i havent hoked it up yet. Also, the starter has the power, then signal, whats the 3rd prong for and where does it go? thank you |
The third post should be connected to the starter motor itself. The buzzer also comes on for low oil but it will display that on the warning light panel on the dash.
Look up your problem in the FSM. It may be in there somewhere but I do not think its low coolant or low oil. |
Is the starter not cranking when you turn the key?
|
This Thing, whatever series/year it is....does it have THEFT Protection? Maybe that is your problem. Mabe read about the Theft Unit in the local FSM and see what it says. And if it does have THEFT, maybe remove the elect plug from the Theft Unit and see what happens.

haha does no one read past the first 3 post? The buzzer is either low coolant or oil warning. There are 2 sensors you need to have wired and connected properly to make it go away. One is the coolant level sensor and its on the top of the radiator. It has one wire. The other is the oil level sensor in the oil pan. verify that those are connected and properly before you start trouble shooting more. |
haha. a coolant sensor wire off causes the hazard signals to go off. ha ha
|
:) Thats never happened to me...You must have one of those weird texas models!
I didn't say anything about the hazards now did I? The best approach to wiring problems is to identify one issue and take a systematic approach in solving it. onehalfasia: When you say the hazards flash, are you talking about the warning instrument lights inside the car or are you talking about the corner markers outside the car? |

Also, the starter has the power, then signal, whats the 3rd prong for and where does it go? thank you You need to do some responing to the questions asked you if the thing is going to be fixed. OR farm out the work to someone. When you look at your radiator, do you find the sensor with the one wire on it or not? If so, then pull the wire off momentarily and put the wire to ground with the key to ON. The buzzer should go off. That's been suggested above but you don't seem to be following up with answers. IF you continue not answering, people lose interest in YOUR problem(s). The 02 sensor has zip to do with YOUR problems. Post number 16 ref's the hazard lights. Like the man said above, no to low oil in the pan can cause the buzzer to go off. OR the connector that goes to the low level sensor is connected to *SOMETHING ELSE*. ALL the connectors on the car are shown in the wiring diagrams with the wire colors that are in the plugs. See a connector that goes to nothing? Look at the connectors and their wire colors in the wiring diagrams and figure it out faster than you can type on this forum. And what year is this car? And "connectors came off the relay". What relay? Where? Hazard works like the attached jpg. You put a gnd on the flasher unit when you push the Hazard switch. Which means *something* is putting a gnd on that flasher unit in the CPU the moment you see/hear the hazards light up. |
haha gummy worms, thats tight.
