Solid rear rotor brake pad question
 

I searched but couldn't really find an answer to my question. I got a '91 non-turbo w/solid rear rotors. I wanna get some greenstuffs and I'm pretty sure the pads are different for the vented an solid rotor cars. Tirerack has 2 different pads, 1 for the vented rear and 1 for the solid, but they're backordered. RX7store's backordered too. I tried calling some other places that say they have the pads in stock, but they don't seem to think there is a difference in the pads.

If anyone has the exact part # for a set of front and rear pads for my car that would be greatly appreciated. I don't wanna order from some store, have them tell me it's gonna fit, and then have to return em cause they don't know what they're talking about.

There is only one type of pads for the rear brakes: the rotor and the caliper are different, the pads are not.

Mazda lists one number for all rear brakes for RX-7's 86-92 regardless of solid vs. vented rotors.
All manufacturers also list only one part number for the rear brakes.

so...

EBC greenstuff part number for rear rotor: DP2729
EBC redstuff part number for rear rotor: DP3729C

Hope this helps.... it'd be pretty hard for someone to mess up ordering the rear brakes when only one number exists, but then again, I wouldn't be surprised if you wound up with shoes for a 1987 ford either, knowing most parts store employees...

My bad, I guess I wasn't clear. Cars w/the solid rear rotor had single piston calipers up front. I know the pads for the rears are cool, it's the fronts that I am unsure about. I wanna make sure that I get the single piston and not the 4 piston pads, if there is a difference in them.

I shoulda just asked if there's a difference between the pads for the single piston and 4 piston. That probably woulda been a lot clearer. My brain isn't working that well today....Slayer concert last nite.

the fronts are def different. i did a conversion a while back from the single piston to the 4 piston. the pads are not the same.

The single piston pads do differ from the four piston pads for the front.

Rears it doesn't matter.

I dunno the single piston pad number you want... but I can tell you you don't want DP 2673.

Thanks for the replies. It's a good thing I posted here before buying the pads, the ones that I was told would fit are the DP2673. I can't find a part # for the single piston ones. If anyone knows where I could find this out lemme know. Thanks again guys.

I am fairly certain the pad exists in green stuff, but I've never bought one.
DP2673 will definitely not fit, not even close.
