Solid Dowel engine

Have an already built turbo engine that I bought. 0 miles never been ran. Apparently it should have solid dowels in it.. Is there an easy way to check if it has solid dowels without opening it up? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks - also I tried searching only found threads regarding putting them in engines, not any info on how to check.

If it has a solid top dowel it needs to have a loop line to feed oil to the front iron. Other than that not particularly, no.

I'll add, it can still have a 1 piece dowel in the top if it doesn't have a loop line, but it would be hollow - some people have gotten confused and conflated solid with 1 piece in previous explanations from me.

Thanks for that disclaimer. The front iron already has a threaded hole but I know some people use this for Turbo oil feed so I want to be 100 percent certain before pumping oil through it for which oil lines im gonna run.

Time to get creative to see if you can fish a piece of semi-rigid line or wire from the turbo feed port to the rear of the engine then.

or maybe try and flow some air/oil/other fluid through it. it may just be a good way to make a big mess

Blowing air through the oil pedistal holes gave me my answer right away. Thanks guys
