Solid Corner seals
 

I'm building up my 90 turbo finally and I got solid seals and the new springs to install in the rotors. Which side goes up? Is it the side with the depression or the solid side?

I'd guess that the recess side goes out to meet the iron faces so the FD spring has a flat surface to press against, but I'm sure someone who's used these knows. I didn't even realize there were recessed ones, I don't see Atkins Rotary specifying which way they go :/ Maybe the recess is simply there so you can put the recess in if you're using the old wire type springs.

edit: But then their solid ones without the recess say they can be used with either type spring, too. Since that's the case then my money's definitely on recess facing the irons and not facing the rotor.

solid side facing rotor and corner springs,recess side goes out to meet the iron faces.I dont like those corner seals at all,i seen them having compression issues.My motor was low in compression after it was rebuild so i took it apart and swapped them with oem units without the rubber piece(bridgeported motor)my compression numbers went up almost 20psi.This is my own experience not telling you that is gonna happen for sure..........

I had heard that they were better than the ones with the rubber inserts and that's why mazda started using them. Thanks for the help!

Mazda does not use atkins solid corner seals, who told you this?
