smoking rotory when cold

My 88 gtu was fine untill some one gave me the slick idea.I was told it would condition my motor if i put auto tranny fluid in the rotors. So i did:mad: bad idea.Ya for some reason the car seem to run better now.But ever morning when i start it it smoke like a beast untill it warms up. After it warms up it doesnt smoke at all. Iam thinking the tran fluid messed up my oil seals.Anyone what could have happened?

Mine now does the same thing. I beleive that it brole some stuff loose around the injectors, cuz it feels kinda flooed. The ATF trick does do wonders, and most of us (90%) have done it.

Mine 88se does the same thing. It has done that ever since I own it. I never have to add coolant so it isn't coolant that is burned. I also don't think my car is using to much oil, i have to fill (about 500ml) some oil every 400-500 miles. btw it is white smoke!! I always thought that it was some kind of moisture that was in the exhaust due too cold temperature. I'm planning to do the ATF treatment soon but I will follow this thread for a few days first!

I didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. 500ml is roughly 1/8 of a gallon. I asume that a quart is quarter of a gallon?? Do you mean that it is not enough?? In that case I should reconsider adding some two-stroke oil to the fuel. I did that for while but it killed my precats. Didn't matter very much, I got rid of them and still pass emmisiontests overhere!

I've gone almost 1200 miles since my last oil change. I checked my oil yesterday and all is fine, I didn't have to add any.

After I did the ATF trick, mine also smoked for a while when I would crank it. I changed my oil and all was well. Some of the ATF fluid CAN AND SOMETIMES WILL sneak into your oil. So always, always, always change your oil after you do the ATF trick. :)

What would happen if I don't change oil after doing the ATF treatment. I mean I just changed it 1000 miles ago. Will it just smoke or will it hurt the engine otherways. I don't think a little smoke will bother me as long as I know where it is coming from.

When I did mine, I got smoke at start up and also a very lumpy idle and almost no low end power. I changed the oil and presto, a car that ran much better than before the ATF treatment.
