Slight oil leak
 

I have a slight oil leak. I recently ported my wastegate and when reinstalling the turbo, I didn't change the old gasket on the large steel braided oil line, and now it appears to be leaking. When the engine is slightly warm, but not at normal operating temperature, she smokes like a bitch out the exhaust at idle (blue smoke), but only at idle. When she's fully warm, no smoke. I started the car and let it warm up a bit until it started smoking, and when I ran my finger along where that oil line connects to a line from the engine somewhere, I got oil on my hands. I'm thinking that the old gasket isn't sealing properly, but when the engine's fully warm, the metal expands enough to seal it completely. Think this is what's going on? Anyway, aside from replacing the gasket, are there any other products that help seal little leaks like these, like that stuff that you add to your oil? Would using that sort of treatment safe for a rotary? Oh, and another thing, what should my oil pressure gauge be reading? I'm getting about 45psi at idle and about 70ish when accelerating. Should I be worried about that?

I have the same problem more or less, except I have no external leaks on my turbo. My car burns oil like a bitch (oil drips from the DP) until its warmed up. I figure it is dying oil seals in the turbo (it smoked on my old motor). And dont add stupid oil additives to your engine. As for the proper readings, refer to a FSM.

It was warmer today, and my car didn't smoke at all when warming up. *Shrug.* Oh, and my oil pressure readings are good, that is, if the stock gauge is accurate. ;)

Yeah mine are really good too. If I throw about 60% throttle on and rev to 4k the needle flings to the top of the gauge.
