simple brake issue

pads for my 88 (gxl) come in both hard suspension and soft, gxl has adjustable. which are required?

rolandofeld 09-16-06 09:26 PM

damn...the schmucks monkey didn't suggest anything else that would tip me off. just brakes for hard suspension and standard. i dont want to pull a pad and take it to 'em cause it's my only car. ...help?

Rotarctica 09-16-06 11:14 PM

Well...it's firm suspension...get the hard ones?

Icemark 09-16-06 11:32 PM

5 lug= heavy duty suspension

Rotarctica 09-16-06 11:35 PM

Is it true the GXL's brakes are better than the Turbo's brakes?

twister7 09-17-06 04:56 AM

Think they are the same turbo vs gxl all 5 lug s4 are the same 5 lug s5 have differant rear rotors w/o cooling fins in the center the noobie parts people are a pain the hard is 5 lug the soft is 4 lug,,i have no idea y they ask that should just ask 5 lug or 4 lug!!

Rotarctica 09-17-06 04:59 AM

Uh...punctuation..?

rolandofeld 09-17-06 09:34 AM

thanx guys. 5-lug vs. 4-lug is much easier than deciphering suspension qualities. thanks again.

They are the same.

Heavy duty= GXL, Sport, 88 GTU, Convertibles, Turbos, GTUs (note the small "s"- don't confuse with the GTU). They all used the same exact brakes.

Standard = Base, Luxury, SE, 89-90 GTU, 91 coupe w/o A package.
