thats illegal here in california, you'd get pulled over within 5 minutes

CarzArKoo1 06-23-07 03:41 AM

i know but it doesn't matter the windshield, the side window its fine as long you can still see driver or the passenger, isn't it?

CarzArKoo1 06-23-07 03:42 AM

my friend has a tinted IS but he didn't get pull over and his tint was nice.

Tinting windows/Owner is what I do for a living. And California has written their law so that absolutely nothing is allowed on the front rollups of any vehicle, if it isn't basically completely clear (has to meter at 70% or higher) it is illegal. Alot of clear factory, untinted glass has enough of a "tint" to it already that it will meter as low as 70% with nothing applied to it.

Basically, you guys had a tint hating natzi write your tint law.

man forget the law, i see so many car getting tinted and be fine with it, I thought the windshield doesn't matter how dark it is, only the side roll window should be higher than 70%.

MidnightOwl 06-23-07 06:54 PM

Tinted windshields at night = hope you have bright lights. I have 20% all the way around on my 240, and it kinda sucks. My windshield has a strip, but that's it. I'm going to do 35% on the 7 real soon.

CarzArKoo1 06-23-07 09:52 PM

good shit, tinted window looks nice on cars

That's a great plan...until you have to pay to take it off after you paid to have it put on. :icon_tdow

here you dont have restriction on rear windows. but the fronts have to be 25% or greater.

most likely that you got a ticket because the front windshield not suppose to be tinted and i think its too dark for your side window too. I saw your car in that thread from the link you provided, well I'm tinting dark in the back and slightly on the side window.

I have darker than legal tint on my vehicles as well not much just 10% darker than the law but still illegal, but if I have to remove it it will only cost me like 10 bucks to put it back on. Professional grade window tint is less expensive than the stuff you buy at walmart, you are paying 95% labor when a tint shop tints your car, so make sure they do it right!!!

Funkspectrum 06-26-07 02:42 AM

Both my FCs have tinted windows.

TehMonkay 06-26-07 02:53 AM

I dont see why anyone would want to tint the front windshield anyway, it looks terrible.

Digi7ech 06-26-07 03:08 PM

Got pulled over last year for my limo tinto so I had to have the side windows redone.
I did 35% mirror.

my front windshield isnt tinted at all

sides are 20%
back is 5%...

you can see through the sides if you stand 5 feet away, so theyre not that dark..

i dont know the percentage, i think its the % before limo on the fronts, and like 35% or something on the rear, but its all shit and purple and bubbly.

CarzArKoo1 06-26-07 05:32 PM

i want limo in the back but the side window, not too dark, i still want like people to see my head at least. If it is not visible cop will pull over.
