Shooting for 300whp, suggestions?

Here is what is currently done, power wise, to my 88TII.

Mildly Street Ported engine
Microtech LT8
RB dp
RB mp
RB catback
Apex-i intake

As it sits right now, I am pushing around 240 whp.

Suggestions anyone? Thanks

bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, bigger injectors, more boost.

BNR stage 2
front mount

SAFC?

I don't know what a Microtech is. So please excuse my comment if it's engine management.

He already has the LT8. SAFC would just be redundant.

I would suggest high performance fuel pump, walbro, bosch, whatever. Bigger injectors, fuel pressure regulator, 8mm sprak plus wires and a dual belt alt pulley. But about changin the pulley you would have to remove the air pump air control valve and all emission components and put block off plates and add another timing belt. If not NOPR's idea works very well 2.

I am also planning on installing a new koyo radiator and flex-a-lite electrical fan.

Bad question, but what is a BNR stage 2? Weight reduction?

red87tll 08-03-06 12:36 AM

weight reduction wouldnt help power any.

BNR is a company that sells a hybird turbo for our cars.

I have a e-fan on my car and hate it sometimes. read up on here and see what other people think. The e-fan just pulls alot of amps.

Fuel pump
injectors
FMIC
Good tune...
bigger turbo....t04b or a BNR 2/3

i did 224 on stock turbo and intercooler, and a rtek 1.7 a little while back. it was running a little lean....i think i was at like 12lbs or something.

More power? easy...you've got the managment, now you just have to do the math.

More fuel + more air = more power The LT8 (and a good tuner) will iron out the wrinkles.

Screw the full turbo upgrade. If you'r only looking for 300whp, get a stage 3 or 4 hybrid, that will clear those numbers.

Don't piss around with a stage 2, its barely bigger than the stock turbo.

Then some 1000cc secondaries....a 550 and 1000 combo at 80% duty cycle will be enough fuel for approx. 350hp.

Then toss a good frontmount on it go have fun.

+1
at this point your big "restrictions" are fuel, intercooler and turbo, in that order.
You'll probably need some more "supporting hardware" as well - or at least should have.

MBC
Wideband O2, etc

and really, at this point, the difference between going to a setup that will make 300 and going to a setup that will make 400+ is minimal in cost - you've maxed out the stock stuff anyways, now's the time to go all out. build a /proper/ fuel system, get a nice intercooler and a big turbo, and make that thing FAST.

In terms of building "reliable power", would you guys consider installing a bigger radiator somewhere in the mix? Also, what type of fuel pump would be best for my application?

classicauto 08-03-06 04:49 PM

well a walbro 255 should do the trick for those power levels...

And HELL YEAH an upgraded rad is always a good idea...I've got a Koyo, its a nice unit.

J-Rat 08-03-06 04:51 PM

yeah, I made 347 on a BNR stage 4. With conservative timing...

does anyone have the link to the thread about the pros and cons of e-fans?

.:SupraG:. 08-03-06 06:10 PM

Just one more question for you guys as well.

If I am already using an LT-8, do I need still need a boost controller?

I was considering buying an AVC-R, but don't know if it is really necessary.
