setting the timing
Hey guys. what's the easiest and most accurate method to set the timing on a 87 NA? Any experiences/tips? Thanks

You need a timing light. You can get one at most parts stores (Pep Boys, Advance, Auto Zone) Hook the pickup wire over the #1 leading plug wire, and run the engine at idle (750 RPM) Then pull the trigger on the light while pointing the barrel at the little timing mark on the crank pulley. There is a yellow mark for leading, and a red mark for trailing. The yellow mark should line up with the timing mark above the crank pulley. To check the trailing, hook the pickup over the #1 trailing wire and the red mark should line up. This may or may not be exactly correct.
