This seems like a BAD coolant problem
 

Ok, so I'm doing a few moretune up things on my RX-7, and I see the coolant resivoir (up in front of the rad) is almost empty, well great.

Then I see there is a hose coming from the engine bay (by the pass headlight), the cap to the resivoir, and another hose going off towards the driver headlight.

The hose by the driver headlight is cut about 4 inches down. :eek: Where the hell is this supposed to go! I am only assuming that is needs to be connected to something?

Dont worry about the hose at the headlight. Thats for the headlight washers. Some models were equipped, some were not.

Fill the resevoir and fill the rad, see if any dissapears after 1 week of driving.

why would headlight washers go to the coolant resevoir?

No problem. I'd hate to see the same happen to you as what happened in my GXL. A chunk of my water jacket was missing... i dont mean the actual water jacket, i mean the metal surrounding the water jacket. And of course, the water jacket was busted too. So exhaust gasses were entering the coolant, and they were forcing all the coolant out of the resevoir. NOT COOL AT ALL. So i drove that engine into the ground, got a rebuild (that incidentally died 3 months later, mechanic said that he wasn't honouring warranty)... so that was a really bad experience that i never want to revisit.
