Seeking advice on how to properly revive my car after a 7 month slumber.
 

Hey guys! I know it's been awhile since I've posted. My car was basically unable to hold an idle once warm and would die, then refuse to start until the engine cooled off again making the car unsafe to drive in hilly Duluth Minnesota, simply because I had to manually hold the idle with my foot.
My inability last summer to pinpoint the source of this problem demoralized me and I decided to park her for the winter early and woodshed on the issue until early next summer.

That time has come and I'm no closer to figuring out what to do to solve this but, it's time to take her out... So, here are my concerns about starting her up again.

First off the battery has died completely and normally I would take it for a lengthy drive after jumping it to charge it however, I removed the MOP and have been premixing the gas for a couple years now and have a odd feeling that the 2 stroke oil will have settled in the fuel tank... I don't know if this is a valid concern..
So I could jump it, drive on the freeway for 30 mins to give it a charge, or buy a new battery and take it to the nearest gas-station and top her off hoping that things will "re-mix".

As far as the idle issue goes I intend to do a compression check after I get the car started again, and then will go from there probably resulting in many more posts :P

Other than that, would you guys reccomend an oil change before my initial start?
Finally, any tips on how to healthily resurrect your car after a long downtime would rock!

Take my advice as you will, I'll warn you that I don't own an RX-7 yet, but I still have a decent head on my shoulders. If the 2 stroke oil HAS settled, it might actually help you in starting it up in a similar way that ATF can when doing exactly what you're doing. If you can't get it started as is I've heard putting just a little ATF in the motor via the spark plug holes can loosen things up to get it started.

Also, you probably should have searched as I'm sure there are numerous threads for this.
