secondaries open the whole time???

ok let me first start off with what my car is. It is a 1988 mazda rx7 se 5spd. all i have is a wet 50 shot and today at the track i took off from the tree and the car died on me well we pushed it off the track and the intake tube was off along with a few vacume lines that were not clamped down so i connected them and the car still would not start. So i begain looking deeper and looked at the throttle body and the secondaires on top are open at idle but close upon WOT is this backwards and if so how do i fix it??? someone please help i cannot figure this out

Your talking about the outboard set of plates????

With a fully hot engine they should be fully open and stay fully open. They only close if the water temperature is cold and the double throttle diaphram is working.

IF the double throttle diaphram is busted, they spring load to full open. See the lever b/t the double throttle diaphram and the throttle body. Is it intact??? The spring inside the double throttle diaphram should hold the outter set of plates open.

The inner set of plates, behind the ones in the jpg, are open to some degree once the throttle angle is over 18degrees. In fact they begin to open just as the TPS on a series four goes to 100percent. In this cars case, 100percent is really 18percent. humor.

yes the outside set of plates are the ones i speak of so they are supposed to be open thanks this really helps i appricate it alot but since that seems not to be the problem what could it be i have been at it all day and it seems as if it wants to start but will not start unless drug behind a truck i do not mean pop started lol i mean i have to drag it behind a truck at 20mph could it be a vacuume leak i have checked all lines and all seem to be connected. also if u leave the key in the run position u can hear fuel running through the lines and it is pretty loud i have never noticed it before well if you have any more suggestion i appricate it
