secondaries not firing unless gauge cluster fuse pulled?
So my car gets fuel cut at 3500rpm unless I pull the 7.5W fuse for the gauge cluster, then it gets fuel cut at 6000rpm. WTF?
btw I have an rtek 1.7 and it lowers the rpm when the secondaries come online to 3500 instead of 3800. I also have a wideband and I can get afr's around 12-13 until fuel cut I suddenly get no fuel. I can creep past the rpm in question, but if I try to boost past it, fuel cut. if i creep past it, then try to boost, fuel cut again. I have replaced the tps with no difference, also tried running with a FCD and that did nothing. what could cause this? :Wconfused |
update:
tried swapping gauge clusters, and no difference. also tried unplugging all 4 coolant sensors and no difference again. |
nobody has any ideas?
I'm in over my head here, and all i can think of is that maybe one of the sensors that feeds the gauge cluster info is broken and causing this. otherwise, could it be the ECU? |

yea actually, there has been much replacing of wire. I have an safc wired in, and I replaced the driver's side engine harness because the previous owner raped it. the passenger side engine harness was taken out, and re-wrapped by me. This car has also seen 2 engine removals/installs of the same engine in the past 2 years, plus dashboard removal once.
however, all the wiring is stock, the only actual rewiring I have done was the fuel pump, but I did this after I already had this issue, and it did not affect it. I actually didn't think to contact pocketlogger, I just sent them an email, I'll see if they can help. |
You'll never work it out unless you get a meter out and probe each pin on the ECU harness and compare it with the FSM.

I suppose that will at least tell me if the ECU is good right?
I'll get that done later tonight and see if I can find any discrepancies. |
