seat rails

anyone know if its easy to swap the seat rails on FC seats and if there is a DIY for it?

clokker 11-25-10 03:25 PM

Clarify, please.

Swap the rails for what?

ICEY? 11-27-10 03:35 AM

ummm, because i have some nice GTU seats i want to put in my other FC and the rails have rust on them so i want to swap my old rails with no rust on the nice seats....

its very easy, four bolts under the seat and your done.

If my knowledge serves me right, all FC3S seats are compatible with each other. Why change the seat rails for the same car design? Just change the shape of the seat.

I have a 90/91 seat in my 86. No modification rqd.

why would i put rusty ass rails in my car?

thats why i want to swap rails, i have some that are brand new on some FC leather seats and i want tro put them on my GTU seats witch have rusty rails.

as for the 4 bolts, isnt that jsut to take the seat out of the car, not the rails?

clokker 11-27-10 04:12 PM

No, the rails bolt to the seat bases at four spots also.

You will need to slide the rails as far forward and as far back as they will go to get to them, but they aren't difficult.

Just kind of confused why you haven't looked at the bottom of your seats <.<

4 bolts holding the rail to the chassis.

4 bolts holding the rail to the seat.

16 bolts. 1 challenge.

Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the President?
