springs, struts, endlinks, strut tower braces, you'll need a set of spring compressors if your going to track the car in any sort of way, don't get Tokico Blues, their Illuminas will hold up fine though Racing beat catback is a nice replacement for the stock exhaust if the radiator is original keep an eye on it, mine split down the length of the plastic top check your motor and transmission mounts wheel berrings nice and tight? get a Haynes manual the only stuff to take of an "rewire" is the emissions stuff but you being in CA I wouldn't recommend if you ever wanna pass again If you feel the need to go turbo after you have learned this then sell it and buy a TII, it will cost you much less than trying to convert one |

If you are talking about an emissions removal, then you'll want to reconsider. You won't be able to pass smog (I hear it's rather strict in CA) and you will not gain any power from anything but cat removal. You'll lose drivability and more often then not these emission removals result in a car that's broken. As for rewiring, the most important thing you can do is fix the ground system: http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/grounding.htm |
Here is exactly what I would do
new OEM ngk plugs new OEM ngk plug wires New oem/Nippon fuel filter change the oil and filter (with oem/nippon filter) Change trans fluid Change diff fluid Change thermostat and gasket with Nippon or OEM ONLY thermostat Change coolant (flush the engine and radiator out with a garden hose) replace the radiator/water neck cap check and replace and worn/cracked vac hoses replace all belts make sure the aux ports are working properly performance wise: replace the exhaust with a racing beat exhaust (weather it be the single header back to stock or road race... do a header back system) suspension I would go with the KYB AGX and lowering springs (if u plan to track/race the car).. if you are just going to enjoy the car for a daily driver some lowering springs and new kyb GR2's give a nice feel and look. new sway bar links upgrade the sway bars (racing beat makes a nice set) New tires (if racing get the appropriate tire for what u plan to do) Dont worry about porting the engine or boosting the car.. you will enjoy this car very much once u get the suspension tight and the car breathing better.. it will open up some more ponnies and will make a reliable fun car. |
I'd also add a relay to your light switch before the harness and switch fry one night, wish i had done sooner
Icemark sells them with appropriate wiring stuff (and instructions) to do the install as well |

you could get away with an n/a drivetrain if you don't drive the car too hard.
you could also get away with the n/a engine harness |

Most FC owners don't baby their cars from what I've seen.
