Seafoam killed my mileage?
Now that I've seafoamed the car, I've noticed a definite loss in my MPG...I cleaned the plugs and I'm gonna change the oil soon but should a noticeable drop in mileage occur?

You should change your plugs after using Seafoam, it leaves all sorts of deposits on them.
|
I've heard it mentioned that Seafoam could free up some crud that was actually helping seal or do something before it was dislodged in whatever way. It could easily be for another reason, though.
|
just drive the piss out of it. or drive a slower car for a while. your car will be faster after you get back in it.
try something like a mazda b2000. |
Yeah, I used Sea Foam in the tank of my Benz, and I just checked the plugs... doh!
Here's a pic: http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s.../sparkplug.jpg Needless to say, they are pretty dead, lol. |
I guess Ill do an oil change and change my plugs to see if that helps, but seriously, I'm getting such bad mileage now..
|
Seafoam made my car smoke on cold start up. Of course the lack of cats could also be a cause of that problem, but it never smoked until a few tanks after Seafoam.
|
It also leaves build up on your O2 sensor. So along with a plug change, replace your O2 sensor.
