Sanity check plz, guys

The lower radiator hose I bought from mazdatrix is too short. like an inch+ on either side. I did a search on this and didn't see any comments on this, but is this really weird? If not are there any other hoses where this might be a problem?

I thought it fit barely when i put it on, but I was almost t-boned by a minivan on wednesday, and had to gun it for the first time on my new re-build, and i think the engine torquing on it's mounts pulled the hose loose. When i was driving home that day, the buzzer went off and my coolant temps started rising, so i pulled over and shut off. a ton of coolant hissed and spitted it way out (we determined about a gallon when refillling) and while i had the nose jacked up, I could see that the hose was almost completely pulled off from the radiator side.

We re-set everything we could, and re-filled and drove it the mile to get it home, but the new hose i just bought looks to be the same size as the one mazdatrix sent. I'm going to measure against the one that's in there to be sure, but if the new hose is too short i'm bringing it back and getting a custom hose cut.

Has this happened to anyone else?

i have a new stock lower hose. i had bought new ones, then bought samco silicone hoses. if you want it to solve your problem just pay for shipping.

I had the same problem, bought both top and bottom oem hoses from oreillys auto. Neither of them reached, so I took the longer that was for the top and used it on the bottom. I then bought a universal radiator hose for the top.

To be honest, the guys at auto zone and oreillys told me to stay away from that one because it was harder to put on...i think because it was cheaper....

Anyways, it was easy to put on and feels alot sturdier/stronger. :) Those will be the ones I go with from now on.

well i already paid for the lower hose and the parts store guys said i could exchange it, if need be, but thx for the offer, prjct87rx7. The point was that i think a stock one won't fit.
