Sanden Compressor O-ring/Questions

Ok, so many years ago, I attempted to to repair my a/c system. The system was evacuated at a shop prior to pulling the engine bay apart, and one of the a/c lines replaced. It's been empty, but sealed for a few years. I am just now getting around to properly completing this. I remember that on the compressor, there was a one piece o-ring that sealed where the lines bolt to the top. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for this? I searched online and found nothing. Can I just buy the green o-ring kit and try to find match in there?
I'm also aware I need to to get a new drier during this ordeal also.

Also, I want to see if the compressor clutch still functions. Is there a way to jump a relay or ground something just for a second to see if the compressor will engage? It would save me a lot of problems down the road if I could assess whether the compressor is viable or not. Thanks.

You should be able to get the o-ring you need from any auto parts store, and the a/c compressor clutch can be tested by applying power to the wire on the compressor. I usually just jump the pressure switch connector by the drier receiver to test it.

the sanden requires 2 larger HNBR o-rings which don't come in most generic o-ring sets. you should try a shop that specializes in A/C repair to try and find replacements.

Measure the ID and OD of the o-rings you need, go to mcmastercarr.com and order replacement HNBR green o-rings if you can't find them locally. They come in packs of 50 or 100 for like 5 dollars. You'll have packs full to spare and sell to other people here.

Went out and bought the small assortment that auto zone sells, one fits and the other barely does, they don't look like they're thick enough... The just barely clear the top of the lip on the mating surface.

Someone out there has had to replace these before. Hoping to get an idea of what size I have to find.

yes, you can do it that way but it isn't as easy as it sounds, since o-ring dimensions seem to almost rarely meet the specifications that they list them as. many times i have to order 3 sets, the set i think should work, then one size larger and one smaller.

i don't have measurements on the seals, last time i did one i dug around until i found the seals i needed.

Worse than that - you usually end up having to order 5-7 sizes, the one you think it is plus or minus 1 in both imperial and metric, and sometimes an extra one or two because they are so very close.

Maybe I've just gotten lucky. I do a fair number of a/c service restorations on the rx7s I rebuild, and I just determined which size orings are most common for them and ordered them as described above, without issue. I think I have 3 or 4 bags of o-rings that seem to fit all FC and FD applications.

Now I HAVE had those kind of issues trying to find the upper fuel injector o-rings for FC's, every o-ring I try is the wrong size in one way or another.
