SAFC on NA?

Can you use SAFC on the NA? Can you make power using it and how much?

Rxmfn7 09-18-03 06:32 PM

Yes, you can use it. Ive seen a gain of 10rwhp on a modified S5 N/A, from before S-AFC to after.

Yes you can use it on an NA. You have to get it dyno tuned for it to be tuned correctly with a wideband o2 sensor and lean it out. If tuned correctly you can get about 10hp. That is if everything is in correct running order. I also believe it would depend on what mods you have.

How about intake, exhaust, SAFC, and maybe bigger injectors on S4 Na. How much power can you make while still be mostly stock(stock gas mileage).

Rxmfn7 09-18-03 06:41 PM

You dont need bigger injectors. The stock 460s will support an N/A up to about 250HP. You will not reach that point on an N/A without some internal engine work.

anybody

i use the SAFR on my S5 streetport. the one thing it does above all else is allows you to trim the fuel to gain back some MPG. other then that, adding a AFR/AFC to a stock engine is NOT going to add any power ( unless your running so rich your loosing power from it).

derek1987 09-18-03 07:13 PM

Why do the s5's make more power than the s4's.

Kyrol 09-18-03 07:19 PM

.

I belive it has slightly high compression rotors but i'm not 100% sure.

derek1987 09-18-03 07:23 PM

So is SAFC on a s4 with intake and exhuast worth it.

Rxmfn7 09-18-03 07:35 PM

S5 N/A use 9.7:1 CR rotors, while the S4 use 9.4:1. The S5 also have a lighter stock flywheel, and a tuned intake system, which allows a higher redline, and about 14 more HP over the S4. I believe that a S-AFC could gain a bit of power on a stock engine, being that they run fairly rich up on top end, and leaning it out would get a bit more power. Yes, a S-AFC will give you HP gains on a S4. You will need to get it dyno tuned by someone who knows what they are doing, with a WD O2 sensor.

So it is a good idea you are saying. Can I make better gas mileage.

yes... and it might make a bit more power. only get it tuned by a pro with a dyno and wide band o2

Driv300mph 09-18-03 11:01 PM

dude... just freakin get the thing! They look cool, have a bunch of electronics, and you'll gain 10HP man! As far as gas mileage, it will increase if anything, because you will be running rich.
