S5 Turbo leaking oil?

Hey Guys

I just finished putting my car back together after blowing the motor at Sevenstock 5. Basically Ive started the car but have not driven it and Im noticing alot of oil coming out my exhaust. I can literally see and touch liquid oil on my exhaust tip. Is this normal for a rebuild?

Ill give you a little background on the car.

It used to have a boost problem where sometimes I would get boost and sometimes I would not. It was unpredictable. This is what led me to believe my motor might have low compression. However, I didnt have any of the typical symptoms like hard starting or crappy idle. In fact, it idled great. Now Im noticing oil dripping from the exhaust manifild/turbine exhaust housing gasket. Can anyone help?

sounds like seals in your turbo are starting to go. Does the motor feel rough at all underboost? my buddy with a GST just blew his turbo REAL bad. he had similar symtomes to yours. Check for and shaft play. Check the hot outlet side of your turbo, caked in oil?

The turbo has very little shaft play. Yes, oil is coming from the backplate.

It's normal for a rebuild using a lot of oil for assembly.

If it's still spitting oil out after running over an hour idling, something is wrong.

Well...The car has definately idled for a solid 30 minutes but not quite 1hr. The strange thing to me is that it still poors out as much smoke as the first time i started it. Is that normal? And oil dripping from the gasket area between the exhaust manifold and turbo seems excessive.
