S5 tranny to S4 motor please help

i got a t2 motor from a company that imports. the tranny was hoop but luckily my friend who had also got one wasnt using it, so he gave it to me and i was going to switch the flywheel to because i had read that i had to do so. anyways i get to my house and take off the transmission and see that i have an aftermarket flywheel. so i have a problem i dont nessessarily want to take off the flywheel but i still want to use the s5 transmission but i have an s4 motor what can i do

sorry i wasnt very specific my friends transmission was an S5 so i needed his tranny and flywheel... anyways i had a thought if the transmissions are the same but weighted differently if i just switched the counterweight for an s5 one would that work or not.

The flywheel/counterweight is for the engine not the tranny. It counters the rotating assembly inside the engine.

I'm not 100% sure but I think all you need to do is bolt up the new tranny and go.

You only need to "switch the clutch and flywheel on an N/A motor that you are putting a Trubo tranny on. You dont have to do jack if it's a turbo to turbo swap.

There is NO difference between S4 and S5 as far as functionality, and bolt holes are concerned.
(as long as you stay Trubo to Trubo and NA to NA) Maybe a few design tweaks that dont affect "Boltability" , but that's it!

The S5 and S4 crossmembers are not the same, just thought I would mention this in case the trans does not have one on it.

/\Good call! I forgot about the cross member!

what about s4 to s5 n/a tranny conversion? bolts to driveshaft and engine just fine? wiring the same?
