S5 N/a TB porting

Ok so I know someone will be able to help me in no time just because that is how it has always been in the past. I want to port my TB on my N/A 89 GTU.....What would be the advantages? Will I notice enough of a difference if I Do this? Also Are there any templates that I can look at? There wernt any when I did my S4 but just wondering. I really appreciate it and thank you.

no advantages.....

You couldn't get the NA anywhere NEAR the point where you would need to port it.

Any power increase will be in your head. :)

lol and damn streight head power is key lol. So where would be the most power seen. I already have a header from the last car, and I have the Pinapple sleaves. What else should I do. I know it is a stupid question but I just want a nice street car and a power car.

Well, without a streetport, I'd say:
Cold air box

full exhaust will gain you some decent power. get a k&n cone filter and make a heat shield. make sure all of your general maintenence is done.

are those pineapple sleeves worth it?

Worth what... the hassle of removing the LIM or the cost? :)

So... the hassle isn't a huge deal for me.... and in that respect they are worth it.

But for the price, no... I don't think they are worth the 50 bucks you spend.... Would I get them? Probably. :)

I think they DO benefit a fully functional 6-port system by smoothing out the charged air and getting a more complete intake cycle.

I recommend to anybody that does get them to tack-weld them into the sleeves.

I Like the sleeves are worth it, not that I can really feel it too much but I believe it is a smoother charge of air. As for the full exhaust what brands do you guys reccomend that wont make my car sound ricer, I know it will make it sound louder but I want something with a rumble not a squeel.

Can people post pics of some heat shields? That would be so cool. Thank you.

Racing beats exhausts are some of the best I've seen.... great sound, great performance, decent price....

I also had the GReddy power extreme cat-back and bonez superflo cat one time... that was a pretty good combo. A little resonating at around 5100 rpms, but other than that, quiet idle... good performance. a little expensive.

i'm hearing a lot of static that it's actually just a placebo effect and that my fluid mechanics friend says something about the space above something affecting something else? I dunno, can anyone relate to this opinion at all?

newRX-7 07-05-07 01:46 AM

ROEN what the hell are you saying? if you are trying to insult someone you are doing it all wrong. you include their name in it and you say something about their mother.....god dont you know how to do anything right. And wspecially if you are trying to insult me, do it right, i consider a bad insult as a petty way to try and make someone feel better about their low self esteem.

Maybe, maybe not. However, I'm not willing to buy a $50 part that has a CLAIMED increase in performance. Pineapple has never done testing (public at least) on whether they actually work or not.

P.S. Wanna buy my electronic supercharger that adds 200hp?

huh? who are you? I didn't even know you posted on this thread.

I was kinda in a daze when I posted that, I'll have to talk to my friend (emac) who postulated a theory on why the sleeves may not work.
