s5 n/a Centerforce DF installed about 3000miles ago -- still running perfectly

As the topic states, I purchased a Centerforce DF for my S5N/A about 300 miles ago.
After the 500mile bed-in, I went autocrossing for a day and have put 2500 hard miles on the car.
The clutch has stock pedal effort and disengages at one point consistantly.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the results and would most definately recommend anyone who is looking for a new clutch to consider the Centerforce Dual Friction for their install.

(I am not affiliated in any way with CF, just very happy)

Good to know :bigthumb:
How much did it cost?

sudseh 03-21-05 11:54 AM

Don't remember offhand how much it cost... It was however, about $90 cheaper than the comparable ACT clutch.

Someone will get on here and tell you how bad they suck but I've had them on 2 different cars, 1 turbo and 1 nonturbo and I've never had any issues whatsoever with them. I'd recommend them. As a contrast I killed a Bonez street/strip clutch in an n/a in about 1200 miles.

I put one on my 91 NA about 2000 miles ago, and it's great. I had heard bad things about the DF, but if you break them in properly, they hold out quite well. Should at least hold out untill I do the turbo II swap next year.

Got mine for around $250.00 from nopi.

I got mine from mazdatrix, don't remember how much. after over 10k miles, it is still very good.

from the design of the clutch, I think that is better than ACT.

So this is a Centerforce Dual Force right? I saw them online for around $250.

which side of the clutch disc faces the flywheel on the DF NA? the regular side or the organic side?

rotarygod 03-21-05 03:45 PM

DF stands for Dual Friction.

The side that faces the flywheel is the one that has many smaller pads. The opposite side is solid.

do you know if it's always like that? because the T2 and NA dual friction discs look slightly different...the reason i ask is because i got a slightly used one for an NA and was comparing it to one my friend had sitting around for a T2 and the center of the clutch disc itself looks like its put together to face the opposite directions (with respect two the two different kind of sides). just want to make sure i put it in the right way later :). i wonder if i should just call centerforce...
