s5 into s4 dash harness wiring difficulty

So, im able to get a rather good deal on a s5 turbo motor, about half of what id pay for an s4.
now i know that the dash harnesses are not the same,
i was just wondering what the difficulty would be for someone with good mechanical and electrical knowledge?
is it just a matter of reading wiring diagrams and matching wires up, or is it more involved?
I realize the general consensus around here is to go for the series that your car is,
but if its just a matter of a matching wiring up i think i would rather do that and save some money.

:dunno:

last try, anyone have any experience with this? is it just a matter of reading wiring diagrams and matching up or are they two completely different systems?

it can be done, but as you well know, you are gonna run into wiring nightmares.
the S5 keg has an electric OMP so either you Run it as an S5 or get an s4 cover or better yet, delete the OMP and premix.
it is really not a good idea to go s5 in an s4 if you have no Electrical skill.
A standalone is an option..or "make the engine an S4" by changing some of the Bolt on stuff.like sensors and so forth.

put if you bolt the s4 sensors on the s5 do you still get the more hp of the s5?

the rotating assembly would be S5 so i say YES,you would still get the benefit of the Lighter rotors and the s5 turbo.
