S5 guage cluster S4 tacho?

I am not aware of anyone trying this yet and its not a common thing so I did not bother searching(shoot me now) :p:

I want to know if it is possible to use an S4 tach from an N/a cluster in an S5 N/a or S5 TII cluster. Mainly interested in swapping 'into' the N/a cluster as that is what my Turbo is using. I know that people say the S4 is larger so I want ot use that one instead of the smaller S5 one. I am thinking that I would have to enlarge the opening in the 'bezel/glass'? What about the elecrical hookups does anyone have side by side comparo's?

Don't they have different redlines depending on the car though? If they do, i'm sure the amount of resistance from the S5 board would be different from the S4 one unless they are both traveling the same distance up and down it and to the redline.

The S5 N/a redline is 8k but the S5 TII's redline is 7k and so are all S4's redline. So yes the redline of the cluster and the 'donor' tacho are different. I thought that was adjustable though?

Might be adjustable, i'm not sure, but either way its going to be a pain in the ass getting it set right.

I tried doing this when I swapped to a S5 gauge cluster. I really dont see how it can be done. They are not the same size, and really isnt any way to line it up propertly. Im sure you could get it to sit in there and work fine, but like I said the backing plates are different shapes and I couldnt figure out a way to do it.
