S5 engine into S4 car

my main question is what all is needed so the S4 cluster will work with he S5 ecu? i read the rotary resurrection link ( http://rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen...o_s4_swap.html) I have an s4 blown engine ECU is toasted due to the PO hooking the batt up backwards. So I'm getting an S5 engine with ECU, wiring harness, intake, sensors and all. So im going to drop the S5 and all into the S4 car. So how can i get the S4 gauge cluster to work with the S5 ecu? thats all. thx in advance.

i did the swap your asking about. let me tell you dude. it is a bitch.

PLEASE DO what i shoulda done in the first place. gone standalone instead of trying to get the engine to work with the different series ecu.

theres so many different things you have to do and it still wont ever run its best.
if you wnana use the s5 ecu you gotta change the dash harness as well. not to mention the s5 computer is set for a different fuel relay. and ddifferent fuel components/air/oil.

go stand alone. trust me. go stand alone.
but if you wanna see a vid of a series swap actually running with the n/a different series harness and all the goodies.

it was a bitch man. PM if you want some more info.

Is it just me, or was that engine missing an air filter...

Use the S4 front cover/TB on the S5 block and intake manifold. Get a new S4 ecu, and save yourself a wiring nightmare. Keeping all the S4 mechanical & electronics will make it much easier.

The only decent challenge will be activating the 6PI & VDI with rpm switches if we're talking about S4 NA to S5 NA.

splice the 20 something wires and run all S5 engine components, you could have it done in 2-3 hours tops
i have a how to thread, its really easy and will work flawlessly
you use the S5 ecu, engine harness, and all S5 engine compnents

i really dont see how re wiring the chassis harness to ecu plug could be considered a "wiring nightmare"
its pretty straight forward, just solder each connection and cover it with the heat shrink, follow my how to thread
pulling the front cover off you run the risk of screwing up the bearing in the front, and to me is alot more hassle

i havent had a problem with mine in over a year, probably runs better than the majority of the peoples rx7s on here

i'm goin to the dyno thursday so i'll know what it'll be makin , probably close to 350whp @15psi

theres a video of my car at the drags runnin 13psi in the dyno and time slips forum, it was my 2nd time to the drags with the car it was a crappy night,no traction,my best was 13.2@108mph... i'm goin back on friday after the dyno to get me in the 12's

I like to think mines running at its best

FC3Sdrift thx for your reply, i found your how to thread. I have some experience with rewiring things so this task isn't all that horrible to me. my main concern were the signals that were being sent to gauge cluster being the same. im sorry i guess i should have specified. so the gauge cluster is pretty much the same? i have an S4 cluster and im going to rewire it to the s5 ECU. as for everyone else thank you but i want to get the car out ASAP and im not waiting on my standalone. a standalone will be in the future but as of now im more interested in getting it out and about. RotaryRocket88 y would i want to keep the front cover from the S4? oil pump? easier to run premix and block the old pump off.
