S5 Cruise Control NA vs TII
My question is will the TII cruise control actuator work with the NA cruise control cpu? The wiring diagram shows slight differences in the input/output singles that go from the cpu to the actuator.
I swapped my na cruise control with the TII one that came with my swap. It does not work, and I scanned it for errors (held the cruise control switch up for 4 seconds, etc.) it came back that the actuator is faulty. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
If the cruise control cpu has to be swapped. What does the unit look like and where is it located (pics would be great).
Thanks |
anyone?

I don't know from firsthand experience, but I just don't see a computer designed for a vacuum actuator (NA) working with an electronic actuator (T2).

The swapped actuators does not work on series four and there's no reason to think it'd work on a series five.

If I swap the cruise control cpu do you think it would work?
Once upon a time I connected a turbo actuator to a non turbo wired car/control unit and set the actuator on the windshield. Went for a drive and pushed CC. The actuator rod contracted making me think the turbo actuator would work. So I installed it complete and went for a drive. Went to CC and the actuator contracted but went all the way contracted (full throttle) and stayed there. Not desireable. |

I actually have the cpu it came with the engine swap. http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...h_100_1877.jpg I didn't know what it was until searching around, and the pins match NA vs TII on the S5's according the FSM. the only difference I could find was in the input/output from the actuator to the cc cpu. I'm going to swap it out tomorrow and I'll let everyone know if it works out. I'm unsure if the actuator or cpu work, so cross your fingers. :) |
Update: I swapped the cruise control cpu, and my cruise control works now. I'm tickled. Thanks for all the help/suggestions.
