Cap it at the engine, then you don't have to support anything.
This only applies to during the installation of a exhuast system where the main catalytic convertor is being removed.

However this is the exhaust system I have.

It is sold for the 86 through 92 completely and does accomodate for the hose..:

RAcing beat specifies that system as being for the 86-88 only, and has there own presilencer without the pipe on there website.
Check for yourself at:
www.racingbeat.com
go to 86-92 section, then scroll down to exhaust components. You will see the difference in the presilencers.

Mazdatrix needs to either update thier website, or offer both sets of available products.

By your philosophy, the catalytic convertors were put there for a reason, by Mazda, yet you removed them. Same thing applies here.

I guess so. But just capping stuff off sometimes has backfired when I simply assumed I "didn't need it"

So if I sit down and think about it, the cats I replaced with a presielncer for the reason of better flow, not just simply because I didn't need them. Since RB put the hose outlet on the presielncer in my system for the S4 and S5, I'll hook it up too. The philosphy does apply.

LOL, I think everyone learned that at some point. Ever capped off the Oil Vapour systems? ha ha ha.

Also, I think you missed the point. RB did NOT put the hose outlet on their current S5 presilencer. You can't connect the split air hose with the system the provide.
I know, I recently installed one.

This is RB's current S5 presilencer. Where would you connect the split air pipe? There is no provision for it, you would have to custom weld weld it.

Here is the one for S$'s, with the pick-up attached for the split air pipe feed.
See what I mean?

Hmmm I wonder what the effect would be if I took it off and capped it because I got my set up from mazda trix a few years back when I was running my s4 and I now have an s5. I put my RB set up on it....Though the 91 does now have an s4 block in it.

I assumed the set up uniform for s4 and s5 because it said 86-92.....

I think it may be time for a cap or a new s5 presielncer....
