s4 t2 wiring

i had to swap w jdm wiring harness for a usdm one and idk what injector wires go to primaries and wich ones go to the secondaries. they all look identical, and one of them is short so im pretty sure its a primary, the other 3 are all long tho and can easily reach all 4 injectors, so if someone knows this well i would appreciate the help cuz its the only thing stopping me from dropping this engine into my 10ae, thanks

On the T2 its first rotor and second rotor, not primary secondary.

Short wire goes on primary and long wire goes on secondary of each rotor.

sry, i was talking about wich injector plugs went to primary and secondary injectors, not rotors, and wich short and wich long, because i have one short and 3 long wires thats y im confused, do you mean of each pair of wires? because they split off into pairs, 1 short 1 long wire together , and then 2 long wires together along with a green plug

F.C.3S is telling you what you need to know... You just aren't understanding.

I understand that without pictures, it's hard to explain.

Hook everything else up. Odds are the harness will have some memory of how it was bent and you should be able to tell which plugs went to which injectors.

HAILERS 05-19-07 02:04 PM

The wires are color coded and shown in the wiring diagrams of the free online FSM.

IF this is a early 87 car, then the wiring is NOT shown online because there isn't a 87 wiring diagram online.

Which harness do you have????? Later harness have one wire on each connector the same color, which is black/yellow. The other wire on each connector is of another color.

If you putting a 88 harness in a early 87 it won't work because it has no solenoid resistor and alterations have to be made.

jdm12a, the member who said the harness will have some memory is correct.
I`m finding that out at any rate. My 88T2 harness has the front rotor and water temp
sensor (in the water pump housing) are all sort of wrapped together but as I reconnect things have fallen back into place very well.

HAILERS, as I have removed the vacuum solenoid rack I was wondering if you had a recommendation on what to do with the wiring plugs for the solenoids. All I been able to find reading old post mainly is "hide them" . The purpose is to clean up that
area. Any suggestions?

HAILERS 05-19-07 02:42 PM

If I ever got into that mode of removing things......which I ain't.............I think what you could do to unclutter things, is to remove the two wires from each plug. Say the BLUE one. Remove the two wires using a small jewelers screwdriver.

The get some shrink tubing from Radio Shack or Home Depot. Get some that will just fit over the wires. Shrink down a piece of that shrink tubing so it covers the pin on the end of each wire so they won't short out. Acually each has a black/white wire on each plug. IT is HOT anytime the key is ON. So make sure it is covered with shrink tubing or the equiv.

That should get rid of the plastic plug parts anyway. Then string tie what's left to the harness?????????? So it isn't just laying about?

I wouldn't cut 'em off. Never can tell when/if you'll use them again.

The wire colors are in the wiring diagrams if you ever needed to reinstall the plastic part of the plugs and use 'em again.

Nice idea. I can use this and should get where I want.

I left Texas in 1996 but still have family in Houston as well as Tyler/Kilgore area east of you so i know they do smog check cars there now.

AET (smog checks) were stopped in Michigan before I got up here and I've not heard of any pursuit to reinstate it.

wait, i think im understanding a lil better, so where the main harness splits, and 2 injectors go out with a green plug and the other 2 injectors go with the egr plug, each split is for a diff rotor, so one is primary and one is secondary on each pair of plugs?

and my harness might have been tampered with or somthing because there is no black and yellow wires on any of the injectors

jdm12a 05-19-07 07:35 PM

and also my injectiors have purple tops, wich as im told means they are low imp and need a resistor pack correct? wich im pretty sure i have and is on my harness but does anyone have a pic of this so im sure?

and what happens if i hook these injector wires up wrong? does the engine lean out on one rotor and pop goes the seal?

Do you have a digital multimeter? If not go buy one. You can use it to find out the impedance of the injectors. Unless they have been modified injectors must match clips on the harness.
You can use the FAQ with its links and learn more about how to ID what you have.
You NEED to go buy a Haynes manual, its a must have tool.
Also please use punctuation, capitalization, etc. (easier to read for most of us)
Now I need an aspirin...........
