S4 t2 uim lim egr air pump on s5 t2 block? Ref ticket

Got a state ref ticket and am thinking of going legal.
Chassis is s4 n/a
As it sits : Block is s5 t2 with s5 uim and lim. S4 t2 throttle body. S4 t2 engine harness. S4 t2 ecu

Will these parts work on a s5 t2 block?
S4 t2 lim
S4 t2 uim.... Well of course if the lim does
S4 t2 egr valve
S4 t2 air pump

Lmk if you have any tips or parts

California sucks

you need to run the S4 stuff for the EGR? the S4 stuff will bolt on, however the egr wont actually work because theres no passage in the block, granted it does nothing WITH the passage in the block....

plan B might be to just tell em you put a newer engine in, in that case you'd have to run all S5 stuff.

or plan C just pay the ticket and keep driving?

To do it absolutely fully legal, you'll need to get it BAR certified as an s4 or s5 (whichever you tell them) turbo engine swap into a non-turbo car. It'll be thoroughly inspected and smogged with everything OEM that came on that model.

Smogging it as an S4, I don't think the EGR will pass a functionality test. Depends if they run that test when you get it inspected. Everything else should bolt on fine. The inspector may look for the twin scroll system since it's part of the fuel and emissions system. So a exhaust manfold/turbo swap is needed.

Smogging it as an S5, the CEL is a problem. Having a functional one requires a cluster swap/wiring harness/ecu swap. Or a cluster that turns on the light for 3 seconds when you switch the ignition on. Other than that, as long as you have the OEM parts and it passes the sniffer, you should be good.

May I ask why they pulled you over and gave you a ref ticket?

What gives your car away that its illegally modded?

California sucks

Oh I've got a stock TII downpipe (broken honeycomb) and a stock TII main cat (honeycomb intact) you're welcome to borrow as long as you leave a deposit.

I'm running an s4 UIM, LIM, air pump, and EGR valve on my s5 block. I didn't know the EGR technically isn't functional, but at least I have it.

i've heard that the state ref only checks visual now to get your motor BAR'd. then you have to get it smogged elsewhere... that's where the budget cuts came into play when they closed down the state referee for a while.

yeah i mean if i can just put the egr valve on the block, and have everything visually there, then i would have no problem getting it BAR'd.

but now i have a new plan. friend called and offered me his s4 t2. so now i'm going to pick that car up and either swap my s5 block in there or drive on the s4 block.

but all in all, i'm going back to all emissions. the cop that pulled me over called his sergeant, and oh man, he knew his stuff.

i got pulled over for being in the vicinity of street racing... where i was just sitting on the side of the road with a couple buddies. supposedly we were street racing or spectators...?

well my car is fully gutted. gp sports on the ground, wide body, fmic, vented hood, all the goodies... i was suprised i never got state reffed before.

and i was wondering because if i switched to the s4 t2 shell, and used my block. would the emissions mount in case i get pulled over and get my hood popped.

thanks guys for the helpful information.

Got a pic of your car? Sucks you got singled out for street racing :(
