s4 and s5 turbo exhaust housings interchangable

are the s4 and s5 turbo exahust housings interchangleable or no ..?

kinda.... the spark plug holes in are different spots which will throw things off a bit. But I'm sure people are using them with no noticable problems.

Turbos have spark plugs!? :D

Yes, the S5 exhaust housing can be swapped onto the S4 turbo, but you must use the S5 manifold too.

this recently came up on the www.ausrotary.com forums and it was found that there is an early and a late type of S4 turbo..

the later S4 turbo being the one you can change the back of with the S5 item..

You can bolt the ser 5 exhaust housing on if you want but the impella will have to much clearance from the housing. Which means lag. The only time it will work is if you have a later model ser 4 turbo. It dosent have the shim that the eairly ones had.

The early model S4 turbos have a slightly bigger centre which doesnt allow the S5 housing to bolt straight on unless it is shimmed/sanded...
