s4/s5 injectors
 

The injectors in my s5 n/a are going bad. It's still drivable but i need them changed. I have a 86 n/a parts car. So I've got 4 injectors off the s4 I can send it to get rebuilt. I'm trying to have the least amount of down time for the s5 as i can. If i get the s4 injectors rebuilt/cleaned will they be a direct replacement of the s5 injectors? thanks for any help.

Make certain injectors are the problem, but the '86 will not match up with the S5.
86/87.5 low impedence
78.5/91 high impedence

What makes you think your injectors "are going bad"? They tend to clog up over a long period of time, and this is not noticed until it gets bad enough to cause major problems.

At any rate, you can put the S5 injectors in your S4 car if you add the appropriate resistor pack, or put a resistor (about 10 Ohm I believe, 10W or higher) in series with each injector.

what makes me think my injectors are going bad? Its flooded 3 times in 2 months. I talked to a bunch of other Rx-7 guys (Reese, Chris, Chris) and told them what was going on and they said its probably time for new injectors. Note : Reese has the 20b FC so I'm certain he knows what he's talking about. I just wanted to save some down time for the 7.

It is very unlikely you need to replace your injectors, you just need to get them professionally cleaned, which is considerably cheaper.
