S4/S5 ecu

Could you swap a S4 ecu into an S5? Would it work, if it wouldn't why not, thx

Well not sure about that but i couldn't even swap in a gxl ecu from an 86 model into my base 87 model, the connectors were different...

Sa22c_guy 03-30-04 01:38 AM

hmm well on a plus side both cars are gx's if that helps

RRTEC 03-30-04 01:42 AM

What makes you think you need a new ecu?

Sa22c_guy 03-30-04 01:46 AM

nah I don't need one but a buddy has a chipped s4 ecu that he claims is amazing and blah blah so he said if it swapps I could test it out for myself, no loss so why the hell not

Pin outs are different (as are alot of other things). There is a writeup somewhere on re-wiring the harness for an S5 ECU, but its not a direct swap, and probably not really worth your time. FWIW, a remapped S4 ECU still wouldnt be worth installing in an S5. Its a different motor (compression and fueling wise).

thx
