s4 NA LIM gaskets? $37??

Hi all, search seems to be broken. It doesnt go anywhere when I search LIM gasket. Anyways, I heard there were some people around here that made these gaskets?

Mazda wants $37 for the stupid thing. Im putting all my s4 t2 stuff on my s4 motor and need a new gasket before I can finish the project.

Thanks.

I can sell the lower-to-block, lower-to-middle, middle-to-upper, ACV, and both 6 port gaskets for an s4 Na for $25 shipped, everything you need to overhaul the intake setup (minus fuel system and vacuum hoses). I could add waterpump to housing and housing to block for $10 more. I also have oilpan gaskets, s4 OMP o-rings, and a lit of little misc. bullshit like that if anyone needs.

I had a problem with aftermarket LIM gasket from Atkins.....it was thinner than OEM, and after I assembled everything, I had a vacuum leak there. Replaced with Mazda part, and all is perfect. Hopefully RR's gaskets will suffice, they have a good reputation.

You are converting an N/A to TII and are bugging for 37$?!

omg....

Mazda has replaced the paper style gasket with a metal gasket, hence the price hike. If you use the old part number (see the parts catalog in the FAQ) you can still order the paper gasket for $10 or so.

Aaron, do you think it would be better for the port matching and such to have a paper or the metal gasket? (putting the s4 LIM on a NA motor)

~Thanks

FWIW, I have never seen the metal style s4 NA gasket, only s5. All s4 na gasket kits I've ever gotten had the paper gasket...aftermarket or oem. Also I have never seen or heard of a metal turbo II intake gasket either.

I've used the atkins gaskets for years with no issues. They are the same thickness as the oem, just a different color (yellow instead of blue or pink). The only thing about them is that they do tend to tear upon disassembly which means they are never reuseable...whereas sometimes the oem's stay in one piece and are reuseable.

i always thought the generic kit from Atkins was OEM packaged from mazda's supplier *shrug*, the coolant seals are identical to what you get from the dealer.

I ell them for 20.00 shipped

the coolant seals and o-ring stuff are oem, but the gaskets from the aftermarket kits are not. they are just as good though...a paper gasket is a paper gasket. :dunno:

I buy the OEM gasket sets which for NA always seem to come with the metal gasket. So I have to remember to order the gasket seperately to get a paper one.

SpooledupRacing 05-31-07 10:36 AM

yeah I use the paper one for the intake to keg...
