S4 Fuel Pump w/ mounting assembly sourcing?

I tried ordering the assembly from mazdatrix, and they said it was backordered by Mazda for 1-2 months. I also called 2 dealers and they said that part is totally discontinued from Mazda. Will the mounting assembly and wiring work from a N/A s4 if i upgrade the pump itself? Or is anyone selling/know where I can find the assembly?

Thank You.

Far as I know, the only difference is the pump itself.
You should be able to use whatever pump you want on the assembly you already have.

Thats where my trouble is lol. I bought my car as a bit of a barn find, and it is missing the entire assembly/mounting bracket/wiring.

There's a junkyard in Pueblo that has a few FCs, might find it there.
Spectre6000 can provide details if asked nicely.

Check the for sale section, or ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/86-91-Mazda-Rx7-OEM-fuel-gas-pump-assembly-STOCK-factory-/131464927539?hash=item1e9beb9933&vxp=mtr
Just remember you specifically want an s4 assembly.

Ah! Here's where my name came up! PMs have been exchanged. He didn't say what he needed exactly, but now I see. Clokker, I'm pretty sure fuel pumps were in situ in at least one of the cars, but what are the odds you think any of them are any good based on the general condition of the cars in that yard? It seems to me that age, varnish, rust, etc. would not play nicely with a fuel pump in that particular setting.

The pump is easily replaced- indeed, it sounds like he's already planning on it- it's the bulhead/hanger part he needs and that should be in reasonable enough condition to at least work with.

Ah yes. That's true.

Kane Jacobs 03-24-15 12:20 PM

Lol yeah sorry I didn't say I needed a fuel pump lol. I didn't because at like the same time and he was telling me about the junk yards, a guy in the local mile high rotary club commented on my fuel pump question, offering it to me for a really good price.

But also, do those junk FCs have the stock 5 lug wheels?

spectre6000 03-24-15 12:39 PM

Not a wheel among them. Only one rear five lug hub left, and it's the one that's so stuck they couldn't get it off; maybe one front left. Those cars have been there a LONG time, have been thoroughly picked over, and what's left is REALLY rough. Typically when you get a five lug hub setup (which is what I went for), you can just bolt it on. I wouldn't even attempt doing so with these without replacing all the bearings and seals first. They're just not in very good shape. Usable, but only just. Sheet metal clips, maybe some random non-engine/non-electrical stuff from the engine bay... One has a diff and rear subframe assembly still in it (don't know if it was turbo or not), and the other has the subframe lying in the dirt next to it... If you wanted an S4 suspension arm (with the replaceable ball joints), I think you'd probably be in luck (though one of the cars was hit in the DSF), but that's about all I'd suggest really as super worthwhile.

Hmmm. We may go up and look at the diff. My friend bought the absolute base model one so it has nothing really on it. I'm a bit better off because mine is a factory turbo. But it sat for 10 years in the back of a shop and the owner never got around to doing anything with it. And it seems like it was slightly parted out, because it was missing the turbo to intercooler piping, center dash caround, intake system, and the fuel pump assembly. But I've got most of the parts and I made my intercooler piping.
