S4 Engine/Trans(N/A) into S5 Chassis

Before I get flamed, I have searched this site high and low and have not found any info on this subject.. It may not make any sense to most but I don't have much money so this is what I am inquiring about.
I have an S4 N/A(87 Base) that has been wrecked.. The drivetrain is great and runs perfect but the body is done.. I have an S5 N/A(90 GTU) that has a decent body and has a lot of modifications done to it already.. Only issue is it is a roller(no engine/trans).. I am just wondering what do I have to do to swap everything over(besides putting in the engine/trans)? I was told the S4 and S5 ECU's are totally different... Also I was told that I have to swap the harness that goes to the instrument cluster? Is there any difference in the S4-S5 transmissions? Or would it just be better for me to try and find another S4 shell? As I said before my funds are limited so I want to make this work.... Thanks for reading...

Swap bare block into S5 chassis. Use S5 manifolds and electronics. Use S5 front cover and electric OMP. Ect...Ect...Ect...Ect... Use S5 ECU. Basically, make the computer think you are still running an S5 engine.

Thanks for the link, man... I don't have any S5 engine parts, just the rolling chassis.. So it seems everything is pretty much straight-forward.. Swap my N/A Engine/Trans/Wiring Harness/ECU and just swap the pins in the harness for the S4 cluster to make it work in the S5, right?

Your signature lists a 1991 GTU as being a parts "BIOTCH"... If it's a parts car, why not use that as your donor?

You're gonna be "limpin home."

I didn't read your questions correctly. You will have fun for days..... In this case:

Step 1: Swap the engine and front harness (for lighting ect.) from S4 car into S5 Car. Essentially EVERYTHING electrical from s4 car goes into s5 car.
Step 2: Swap the engine from the s4 car into s5 car. Keep drivetrain on S5 car.
Step 3: Success.... You have now taken your s5 car and turned it into an s4 car essentially.

In this case, there is no need to modify the engine, since you will be running all s4 electronics on s4 engine.

This car also has no engine/trans/ecu.. It was mainly picked up for having an excellent black interior, decent doors/hatch and bumpers, mud guards and a few others... The problem with this car is the the floorboards and essentially majority of the body is rusted through.. I pulled back the carpet where the ECU used to be and saw various holes and big spots in the floor where I could stick my hand through...

Thanks for the info.. I am just better off finding an S4 shell versus swapping all that over... Crap... Time to start saving the pennies again... Thanks again, though...

I might be able to get you an S4 shell.
