s4 engine in s5 car

Hi Folks.

Found some good write ups for a s5 in a s4 car but not the other way round. I think its suggested to keep the s5 wiring and the s5 front cover with its OMP (also have to use the s5 injectors?!). Well, not totally shure about these things. So maybe someone can help me out.

thanks,

Harry

it would be better to put an s5 in there...it has a little bit more power to compensate for the extra weight

Kevin has a great writeup on this. Check the Tech section out!

I have a thread on this swap. Let me go find it.

I'm currently doing this swap. I'm using it to get the car running while I rebuild the S5 motor.

Just swap the wiring and throttle body. Ditch the rats nest. Block the ACV. Need to use the S4 flywheel and clutch.

I swapped the front cover because I wanted to fix the oil warmup pellet, use a S5 water pump housing, and use my MOP.

Read this link. I will make a short recap of a thread I started on this when I did my swap.
I had an 88 GXL that I bought for the low milage Mazda Reman engine. I also bought an 89 GTU. I ordered a Blankoff plate for the EGR valve from Racing beat. I blocked off the split air ports like the writeup said to. I used the S5 front cover and MOP. I used all of the S5 intake, wiring and emissions stuff. I had to replace the catalytic converters because they were toasted. I used a unit from Summit. I passed emissions very well and the car runs great. Coldfire has done this swap too. The swap would've been easier if I didn't use all of the emissions componenets.

Good luck, and be patient. Make sure all vacuum lines are hooked up and that you have no intake leaks. I did use S5 injectors and I get about 25 mpg on this setup.
