s-afc II pressure sensor question

I have all the wiring for the S-AFCII done (what a mess of wires) except for the wire I ran to the pressure sensor. Right before the fcd, and out of the bottom of the sensor, 4 wires come out (red black white blue). Which one do I splice into? I think its red, but I'd rather some backup on that, and I don't have a FSM handy. Thanks,
Ben

oh and this is on an s4 jspec turbo

I have an 88 shop manual, and the included pic is the plug for the pressure sensor. Im not exactly sure how to read the electrical system diagrams but I see that one of the wires goes to the emmisons control unit and one goes to the air flow meter. I copied a couple things out of the FSM (mine is on the computer) and edited it a little bit. I could be wrong though! And im not sure about the wire colors, but if you compare the plug in the car to the plug on this pic then you will know the colors! If im completly wrong let me know, but on the diagram itself I outlined the wires in blue and red (that correspond with all the plugs above the diagram). If none of this makes sense then let me know cause im tired! Good luck and if there is anything else u need let me know!

why are you going to the pressure sensor??

joelu 01-14-04 12:23 AM

cause s4's have a shitty tps

Why did you run a wire all the way to the pressure sensor? Where do you think it's wired back to? That's right, the ECU!

The pressure sensor signal wire is brown with a red stripe (pin 2B).

If he taps it in at the ECU that would be after the FCD.

The SAFC sees 100% throttle on my car at a piddly 1/3 pedal. Alot of people have (and as of now, I am in agreement) decided that the boost sensor gives a much more linear fuel correction curve. And plugging it in before the FCD should net you more flexibility (more voltage range). Something like 0-5vdc instead of 0-3.62vdc

those guys pretty much covered my reasons, but i still don't know which wire. The only wires coming out of the pressure sensor are red blue black and white.

And J-Rat, you are familiar with tuning the afc with the boost sensor? I dont really know how to do it, 2A+ron does, but hes only tuned to the throttle. I am coming down to tucson on sunday hopefully for the drift event, and to trade exhausts with Ben, maybe I can see your setup...

It's the brown/red stripe wire. According to the posted diagram, it's the "pretty sure" wire - that's it.

The wire highlighted in blue is the common ground for the EFI system.
