S-AFC and Extra Wires?
When I install my S-AFC into my '91 TII I will have three left over wires.
-Blue -Pink -Orange I remember reading some webpage saying you can use one of the wires to moniter some voltage. Like the O2 sensor (Factory). Was wondering if that is possible to do. Anybody use those extra wires for anything? Thanks James |
the blue wire is the only other wire that you can make usefull.. hook it up to your o2 sensor line at the ecu.. you can then monitor o2 sensor voltage via the sensor check menu.. you're going to be looking at the IN2 value ..
the other wires don't do anything.. tape them off.. |

www.fc3s.org ---> A'PEXi S-AFC install write-up :)

Thanks Chris...I will tap the factory 02 wire and moniter it. Be intresting how it compares to my Haltuner.
Well...it is 11am east coast time. Time to go install the S-AFC. I hate working without a garage:( If somebody tries and mugs me I will jam my butane soldering gun in there side:) James |
Its installed!
Well, It is finally installed. Took me about 3.5 hours to put it in. And that included installing a FCD. I really like the display and the information it displays. Now I need to get my 720CC secondary injectors ordered and installed.
I used the blue wire to moniter the 02 sensor voltage. I guess you could hook any ecu wire up to that blue wire. To view voltages. Thanks Chris James |
Chance: You really do want to be showing about 0.85v signal voltage during full throttle.. anything lower if generally regarded as too lean for full throttle.. most a/f guages with blinky lights start showing rich when you're at 0.70v and above.. but those voltages are a little too low to be safe.. anything above 0.95V would be too rich.. ie: you're probably losing a bit of power..
I try and stay between 0.85 and 0.92v at full throttle. By the way, in my last priv message to you explaining hwo to hook the s-afc up through the boost sensor rather then the TPS signal, I was under the impression you had a series 4 T2... the reason I went to this method was to overcome the limitations with the narrow range TPS .. If you do have a full range TPS, I would suggest sticking with the TPS method since this is a tried and proven method of using the S-afc.. I have yet to blow my motor running it through the boost sensor, and have been able to tune it with good success, however I don't want to make you think that it's the safest method.. |
